Jean Sebastien Roy to be honoured by the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame

Markham ON – September 10, 2012: The Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the tenth member of the class of 2012. Jean-Sebastien Roy will be honoured at the Seventh Annual Canadian Motorcycle Hall
of Fame Induction Banquet and Reunion, which takes place on November 3, 2012 at the Delta Centre-Ville in
Montreal, Quebec.

Known for his relentless attack on the track, Jean-Sebastien has been thrilling fans since 1987. Hall of Fame Chair
Kellee Irwin had nothing but praise for this exceptional talent. “Jean-Sebastien is a rare and special athlete. It has
always been a true privilege to watch him compete.”

A fast kid from Acton Vale, Quebec, Jean-Sebastien began racing at Trois-Rivieres in 1987. In the early years of
the next decade he climbed the ranks to become one of Canada’s top prospects in the 125cc and 250cc classes.
Training in Florida, and racing across Canada and the United States, Jean-Sebastien continued to build upon
his successes and was welcomed by the Planet Honda team in 1999. But it was between 2001 and 2005, with
Blackfoot Racing, that Jean-Sebastien truly entered the ranks of motocross royalty, winning five CMRC Series titles
in the 250/MX1 class. This storied career hit a high note when Jean-Sebastien took first in the 2008 Montreal SX
in front of hometown fans. An exceptionally skilled rider, and always a first-class ambassador of the sport, Jean-
Sebastien’s career is one that will be an inspiration to future generations of competitors and fans.
